Live workshops delivered via Zoom

Learn with me alongside a small group or one-to-one, without having to leave home.
Before the workshop I will send you a comprehensive list of the materials and equipment you will need, and any other special instructions. The workshop will be recorded and after it ends I will send you a link to the recording so you can review it as often as you like over the next seven days. The recording is only available to the people who registered for the workshop and will be deleted after seven days. (if you don't want to appear, just have your camera switched off during the workshop). There is an optional follow up show-and-tell/ questions zoom session seven to ten days after each workshop.
Individual zoom sessions can be tailored to your own learning wishes and arranged at times to suit you.

Note: change of date

27th June 2022  7pm (British Summer time)  £35

Solar dyeing allows you to colour fibre, yarn or fabric with natural plant dyes, without needing lots of specialist equipment. The energy used is sunlight, and it is more gentle on the fibres and pigments (and on your energy bills) than other dyeing methods.
There will be an optional show-and-tell session in November for any questions.
No previous experience needed.
A full materials and equipment list will be sent before the workshop.
A recording of the workshop will be available to registered participants only.

Sunday 26th June 2022 2pm (British Summer Time)

Not suitable for beginners. 3 hours,
No more second sock syndrome! No fiddly double pointed needles! I will teach you how to knit both socks at the same time on one circular needle, so they match exactly. And it really does feel quicker. Working from the toe up means you can try them on as you knit and adjust for perfect fit, and you can make them as long (or short) as you like.
I will tell you what yarn and needles you need  when you book. Optional follow-up session 20th March - show-and-tell or ask further questions.

Friday 16th September 2022 7pm (British Summer Time)

Not suitable for beginners. 2 hours.
Two techniques in one workshop for those who like to add a little intrigue to their knitting. Something hidden or disguised that only you will know about, until you choose to tell. We can have fun discussing how we might use these techniques.
I will supply instructions for swatches in both techniques, although you will probably only have time to try one during the workshop. I will tell you which yarns, needles and notions you need when you book.
